We could say that there is no party without guacamole and nachos right?

Well it is super easy to do, so don't buy it in a jar, make your own. All you need for a basic guacamole dip is ripe avocados, salt, pepper, olive oil and lemon juice. I added a bunch of other ingredients like tomatoes and garlic.

When cooking with avocado you must always buy and use a ripe avocado. The skin of a ripe avocado is dark green, almost black and bumpy. The problem is that you might have the bad luck of buying a rotten avocado. So to avoid this look under the stem of the fruit. If it's nice and green you have the perfect candidate for guacamole. If it's brown, put it back, it's most probably rotten.

If you buy a hard and green avocado simply keep it on your counter for a few days until the skin has the perfect color.

Now that it's all clear about buying avocados let's make guacamole:

  • Cut the avocado in half and remove the core. Using a tablespoon scoop out the pulp and put it in a bowl.

  • Add over the pulp salt, pepper, lemon juice, olive oil, roughly chopped garlic and chili flakes. Mash everything using a food processor.

  • Now slice the tomatoes in half, remove the insides and chop the tomatoes. Add over the guacamole and stir.

  • Serve it with nachos.
